Insurance Claims AssistanceAssessing the Damage
Navigating the insurance claims process is a step-by-step process. Our trained professional staff is able to assist homeowners in assessing potential damage to the property and to offer insight into whether or not a claim should even be filed. Unlike some of our competition, we only recommend to a homeowner that a claim be filed if there is legitimate storm damage. We do not want a homeowner to present an unnecessary claim which may put their policy at risk.
Generally, insurance policies cover storm related damages, but it is important to know what is covered and what is not. Typical exclusions for standard homeowners insurance include intentional acts and normal wear and tear. This means that if you caused the damage on purpose or if you simply need a new roof because the old one has worn out over time, you probably will not have coverage and will not have a valid claim.
After a weather event in the area (wind or hail), most homeowners will survey their property looking for signs of damage which initially will include checking trees, shrubs and plants around the house. If trees, etc. are stripped of their foliage, there is a possibility of roof damage.
Visually inspecting patio covers, screens or soft aluminum roof vents for dents or storm damage is also a good indicator that your roof may have sustained damage. If you find signs that wind or hail has damaged your property, take immediate steps to protect it from further damage. It is important to call us BEFORE you call your insurance company.
Roof Worx will respond immediately for emergency/temporary repairs making sure to cover broken windows or tarp a roof that is severely damaged to prevent interior water damage to the home.
